When blue light is absorbed through your eyes your brain interprets it as daylight, which signals to the brain and the rest of the body that it’s time to be awake. During the nighttime, the body secretes a hormone called melatonin that promotes sleep and initiates a series of biological processes at specific times of the day. That's why at night a specific signal is sent to your brain, which then informs your body to secrete melatonin that makes you drowsy.

They are also good for people who don’t have a prescription on distance, so they can just take their glasses off when not working on screen. The single-strength ones are also a cheaper alternative to the progressive ones.

Near-range progressive: The near-range progressive has multi-strength lenses that are specifically made for working on-screen and reading distances. You will see clearly on your working station, but farther distances will be unclear. The near progressive is perfect if you want the optimal computer adjustments, as the whole lens has the perfect strengths for your working station. They are the best choice for distances up to 1,5 meters and reading distance among computer lenses.

Mid-range progressive: Mid-range progressive lenses are for those who want a bit more range flexibility. If you for instance work as a receptionist or attend many physical meetings, you should opt for the room-progressive ones. You will see clearly on your screen as well as up to 4 meters ahead. This means they will work for both screen distance and presentation distances.
